The Heidelberg Project is an outdoor art installation started in 1986 by Tyree Guyton and his grandfather Sam Mackey. It is in part a protest of the deterioration of Detroit. Seeing it is extremely eerie, causing you to be quiet for no real reason. The street is surrounded by actual residents which makes another odd juxtaposition- people living in real decay around this fantastical protest against Detroit's decay.
Incredible.
