(Vice photo- not mine)The new album Contra by Vampire Weekend sounds like lame sucky out takes of "You Can Call Me Al" by Paul Simon. "You Can Call Me Al" by the way, is one of the greatest songs of all time. The guitars are faster and songs more complex, but it still kinda comes out like shit. The boys should have stuck with the smart NY kids who summer in cape cod (and are rich enough to use the verb to summer) vibe. The single "Cousins" is super fucking suck ass. Quirky African beats should have stayed with black people. Let T.V. On The Radio use 'em, guys. They're not for you. Also, a side note, kids who wear pastel colored pastels are not allowed to use the word Contra. Ever. I bet they never even played the 1987 Nintendo classic shoot 'em up. Dicks.
