LGT

In my life guarding class there are
3 typical stoner Bostonian dudes
3 overachiever high school swimmers girls
1 sorority girl
1 bland but cute girl
1 kooky MIT chem professor who is way to excited to be there
and me
9 of us would rather be somewhere else.

We were practicing back boarding (strapping someone to that white board for people with head/neck injuries) and it was nerve-racking. The first group i was in , I was told by my two partners that they had just smoked weed and I was to be the mock victim. This is after I saw a girl who was fully strapped in get dropped and almost drown. I was in a group after that with two tiny girls and I am far from tiny. When you are on the backboard you are probably at your most vulnerable. Strapped to a board not being able to move, with your bathing suit suctioned to you while amateurs fuddle around with straps and a head holding device. They then barely pull you out of the pool on to the deck. Afterward you just sort of want to be held, and told it'll be alright.
